Zicam Lawsuits
If you, or a family member have lost the sense of smell after using Zicam, a popular nasal spray - non-prescription – then O'Steen and Harrison, attorneys at law are ready to include your name on the list and they claim they have recovered more than $3 Billlion dollars for their clients.
Zicam has been blamed for the onset of a condition known as Anosmia which has been claimed to leave a user with a potentially permanent loss of smell and taste, and the condition is irreversible.
Now, and again a little late, the FDA is conducting a search by collecting and evaluating reports of severe reactions to Zicam. But what do they do and how do they do it? The past Commissioner of the FDA, Dr. Herbert Ley, stated that the FDA is not protecting anyone except the profits of pharmaceutical companies. The FDA claims it is legal for doctors in America to prescribe for their patients medicines for ailments that are not approved by the FDA.
Anosmia was first reported by a Denver channel wherein one of their employees was diagnoses with the condition after using the drug. After the running of the story they received 80 reports from call-ins claiming injuries by zinc nasal sprays and experiencing serious side effects. Some had used another spray called Eeze
Even though the problem has become general information the Zicam manufacturer has refused to display any warning of potential problems by users. In fact, the company reported instead that the medication was safe in spite of having never conducted any studies on the loss of smell. They went further by publishing the following: “Reports alleging Anosmia, or loss of smell, in a small number of patients using zinc gluconate intransel gels for treatment of the common cold are completely unfounded and misleading.”
Those so injured should be entitled to compensation. Eating and a sense of smell is a function necessary to living. There is nothing so devastating as an aversion to food thus stopping the intake of necessary vitamins and minerals for a healthy life. Nothing is greater than sitting down to an appetizing dinner. But for those who can't taste or enjoy the very aroma of good food one could honestly determine that living has lost its oomph.
