Propulsid Drug Lawsuits
|
|
Though the FDA warned the public in 1998 of the deaths and hospitalizations cases from the use of the antacid Propulsid the same types of effects from its use continue even now. This drug is primarily for Gastoesophageal Reflux Disease and the one used by President Clinton. After the approval in 1993 the maker made several revisions to the label informing health care professionals, as well as patients, about the various side effects and risks. The most serious of these were the inevitable cardiac irregularities which appear in the warning of many too many of the quickly produced drugs that are supposedly driven directly to that infinitesimal spot in the human body and cure it instantly., In fact, every drug effects, in the same way, every part and function of the whole body. It can't be avoided but it is never a conscious thought in the mind of the patient. Propulsid was only associated with mild effects when the drug was approved. That more serious life-threatening abnormalties or arrhythemias and cardiac arrest in patients who had no prior heart problems would begin to fill the hospitals was an apparent shock. |
