Procrit Johnson and Johnson lawsuits filed
|
|
Just announced yesterday, March 9, 2007 Johnson
and Johnson Company has withdrawn their drug, Procrit, because of
dangerous side effects heretofore unknown.
The drug was for anemia patients, specifically
those suffering the after effects of chemotherapy which kills red cells
in the blood.
Procrit, it was also discovered, stimulated growth
of the cancer cells a result completely opposite of it expected health
benefit.
Johnson and Johnson states that the product was over-prescribed
and over-used and was originally meant to be used a s little as
possible. The product was costing the company ten billion a year and
they needed to cut their costs.
Who is to blame for all the deaths and added
health problems people have suffered in an effort to feel like life is
worth living?
Are the companies so mercenary that they disregard
the responsibility? Do they honestly test these drugs or simply throw
them together to get the product on the market fast? Or should we look
to the doctors and dentists? Are they responsible for failing to study
the drugs and their composition before prescribing?
It's not only blatant cruelty to flood the world
with inferior drugs, it's blatant greed on the part of far too many
involved in this problem.
Have the people become so blasé' regarding the
open knowledge that we are surrounded with addicts who will consume any
kind of drug they can get into their grasp and could now care less of
the inevitable results?
What are the answers? Who are the real culprits?
