Ortho Evra Pulled From Market
|
|
McNeil Pharmaceutical, Inc, makers of Ortho Evra
birth control patch has reported that at least a dozen women, most in
their teens have died since 2004 through using Ortho Evra.
Blood clots, strokes and heart attacks have
claimed their lives, but note: “most in their teens”
Birth controls should be used only by real adults
and only when it is necessary and hopefully only the married ones, but
that's a bit much to ask in this era of fast and loose sex. Gone are the
morals and with them, goes decency.
Old fashioned, you say. Perhaps, but abstinence is
a most reliable contraceptive. The problem begins with Pharmaceutical
companies understanding the absolute need for a contraceptive but comes
the competition and all the industry tries to outdo the other in their
inventiveness for applying the medication in the easiest manner.
Otherwise most would not inconvenience themselves with a pill and a
glass of water.
Lost among all the advertising is that everything
absorbed into the system goes into the blood stream, especially
contraceptives ergo: blood clots and heart attacks. Are we all mad to
not see the obviousness in that?
There is a pill or a patch for everything these
days, no matter what, because people are undisciplined – and too lazy to
apply their own restraints.
When doctors get around to considering the effects
of birth control and reporting all the “unusual” deaths of young girls
perhaps the rest of the thinking public will begin to act with common
sense. No one has ever died of that, and it's free.lprits?
