Which digit of the hand is most hated? Many call it “the bird” and we all understand the “comment” it makes instantly. Many a fistacuff scene, or gun shooting has emphasized the impetus of this gesture. Well, a fan of Amanda Peet was alleged to be so ticked at her that she shot her the finger. A native of New York Peet's starring in a movie with Dermont Mulroney and she declares that there must have been a misinterpretation. She had been playing her usual sympathetic type character and had been in an intensely emotional scene involving an angry struggle with a baby stroller. “She had finished the scene and was sitting in a “Director” style canvas chair in front of my building” delcares the fan. “I had been walking my terrier and was talking to several neighbors about 20 feet from Peet”. “It appears that Amanda suddenly became perturbed with us looking at her. She became agitated just as I gave her a thumbs up, trying to be supportive and with an intense frown Amanda flipped the bird. I can't imagine why.” claims the unnamed fan. Peets Hollywood publicist said the actress claims no such thing happened. She stated that Amanda is far too respectful a person and certainly wouldn't do such a thing to a person she didn't know. “Perhaps she jokingly flipped one of the other people on the set. She likes to kid a lot with her co-workers.” Another mountain made out of a molehill. Why would anyone want to be famous? I'll never know.
